Vikings Power Past East Chicago in PC3 Basketball Broadcast Debut

The Valparaiso Vikings (1-0) opened their home schedule with a strong victory on December 5th, defeating the East Chicago Central Cardinals 78–65 in PC3’s first basketball broadcast of the season, also streamed live on the Heartland Sports Network.

Valpo showcased balanced scoring throughout the night, led by standout guard Lavon Redmond, who poured in 18 points to pace the Vikings’ attack. East Chicago Central battled behind a big performance from Jamarie Pollard, whose 22 points kept the Cardinals within reach, but Valparaiso’s depth and defensive pressure proved decisive down the stretch.

The Vikings controlled the tempo in the second half, closing out the game with a series of key stops and transition buckets to secure the double-digit win. Be sure to catch the replay below!
