PC3 Broadcast Earns Top 10 Midwest Recognition from Broadcast Education Association

The Porter County Career and Technical Center's (PC3) broadcast of the 2026 Kouts Boys' Basketball Sectional Championship game between Kouts and Marquette Catholic has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Live Sports Coverage productions in the Midwest by the Broadcast Education Association (BEA).

The recognition is especially significant considering the size and scope of the Midwest Region, which includes participating schools from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The award highlights the exceptional work of the PC3 student broadcast team, whose coverage of the sectional championship showcased professional-quality production from start to finish. Every aspect of the broadcast—from camera work and graphics to commentary and overall production—reflected the dedication and talent of the students involved.

This marks the second time in the past three years that a PC3 broadcast has earned Top 10 recognition. Each school is permitted to submit up to two broadcasts in different sports for consideration, making the achievement even more noteworthy.

The recognition serves as another example of the high level of sports broadcasting experience students receive through PC3, while demonstrating that their work continues to compete with some of the best scholastic productions across the Midwest.
