PC3 Community Involvement

Community involvement in radio and television is vital for promoting local perspectives, fostering civic engagement, and ensuring media content reflects the diverse voices and needs of the community. It also strengthens relationships between broadcasters and viewers, leading to more relevant and impactful programming. For the past several years, PC3 has prided itself on being a strong community partner to several businesses and events in not only Porter County but throughout Northwest Indiana.

Porter County Fair

Each year, PC3 students serve as members of the working media at the Porter County Fair in late July, producing professional video, photography, and social media content. From concerts and 4-H events to vendors, fair food, ride reviews, and everything in between, students gain real-world journalism and media production experience while covering one of Northwest Indiana's biggest summer events. Last year, PC3 students also collaborated with Indiana 105, expanding their coverage and working alongside industry professionals.

Roxx Fest

PC3 students gain hands-on experience covering the annual Roxx Fest in Portage, producing professional video, photography, and social media content for one of Northwest Indiana's premier summer music festivals. Students showcase nationally and regionally known bands, capture the excitement of live performances, interview artists and attendees, and create engaging content that promotes the event across digital platforms. This real-world experience helps students develop valuable skills in event coverage, storytelling, and digital media.
