Students from PC3 recently had the unique opportunity to visit NBC 5 Chicago, where they toured the station’s brand new studio and experienced firsthand what it’s like to work in a modern media environment.

Throughout the visit, students explored cutting-edge technology, observed professional workflows, and gained valuable insight into the fast-paced world of broadcast media. Industry professionals shared their experiences and offered advice, giving students a deeper understanding of careers in journalism, production, and storytelling.

The trip proved to be both inspiring and memorable for everyone involved—including instructor Mr. Harvoth, who enjoyed returning to his former workplace and seeing its impressive transformation. PC3 extends a sincere thank you to NBC 5 Chicago for hosting such an incredible behind-the-scenes experience. Opportunities like this continue to inspire the next generation of storytellers, creators, and journalists.

PC3 instructor Mr. Harvoth, Alyssa Batesole, Jackson Keyt, Andrew Meyer, Cailin Gipson, Andrew Copeland, Jackson Minder, Ben Rupp, Leila Sawaya, Samantha Lustick, Andrew Coyne, Gianna Zikkos, Angela Shear and PC3 instructor Mr. Jennings pose behind the news desk at the new NBC 5 studios on 4/1/26.
