PC3 Earns 10 Awards at IASB State Competition!

Students from the Porter County Career and Technical Center’s Radio & TV program had an outstanding showing at the 2026 IASB State Competition, bringing home 10 awards while competing against more than 40 high schools from across Indiana.

The competition, held at Butler University, showcased student work in a wide range of media categories including radio, film, photography, sports broadcasting, and podcasting. Known for its highly competitive and subjective judging process, the event highlights some of the best student media work in the state.

In addition to competing, PC3 students also participated in a series of seminars led by industry professionals. Sessions covered topics such as film production, sports broadcasting, social media content creation, and television news production. The workshops provided students with valuable insights into careers in media and communications.

PC3 students were recognized across several categories, led by Gianna Zikkos, who earned 1st Place in Radio Interview and was also named a Finalist in Live Radio Host.

Other award winners included Max Wojciechowski, who earned 2nd Place for Music Video, and Timothy Klimek, who received an Honorable Mention for Music Video. In the podcast category, Cailin Gipson and Andrew Copeland were awarded an Honorable Mention.

PC3 also received recognition in visual and storytelling categories. Brody Kosiara earned an Honorable Mention in Photojournalism, while Andrew Copeland received an Honorable Mention for Animated Story.

The PC3 Sports Crew was recognized with an Honorable Mention in Live Sports for its coverage of the Girls’ PCC Tournament Finals. Students involved in the broadcast included Brody Kosiara, Jonny Klumpe, Devon Alsman, Samantha Lustick, Leila Sawaya, Gianna Zikkos, Andrew Coyne, Charlie Durham, Hailey Stalion, and Vincent LaFollette.

Additional honors included Ben Rupp, who received an Honorable Mention for Short Film, and Devon Alsman and Jonny Klumpe, who earned an Honorable Mention in Radio Interview.

The strong showing highlights the creativity, technical skill, and dedication of the PC3 Radio & TV students, as well as the program’s continued commitment to preparing students for future careers in media production and broadcasting.
