PC3 Media students spent an unforgettable weekend at RoxxFest 2026, gaining hands-on experience while providing extensive multimedia coverage of one of the region's biggest music festivals.
The experience began on Thursday as PC3 seniors Gianna Zikkos and Angela Shear hosted a live tailgate show directly from the festival grounds in Portage while crews worked behind the scenes to prepare the stage for the weekend's performances. The live broadcast gave viewers an early look at the event atmosphere and showcased the excitement leading up to the festival. From interviews and previews to behind-the-scenes insights, the students represented PC3 Media with professionalism and enthusiasm from the very start.
Once the festival officially kicked off, our team shifted into full production mode. Over two full days, students provided continuous coverage of the event, capturing performances, conducting interviews, creating social media content, and documenting every aspect of the festival experience. Along the way, they covered an impressive lineup of artists including Simple Plan, Daughtry, Bowling For Soup, Skillet, Hinder, We The Kings, Hawthorne Heights, Diamante, Backhand Blue, Emerge, When The Sun Sets, Ignescent, See Through This, Seldom Told, Escape The Paradigm, and Sherman's Army.
Beyond the content they produced, the weekend served as a valuable learning opportunity. Students gained real-world experience by working across multiple productions, maintaining continuity between projects, collaborating as a team, interacting with industry professionals, and adapting to the fast-paced demands of a large-scale live event environment.
The results speak for themselves. Since the festival, PC3 Media's coverage across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok has generated nearly 500,000 views, providing tremendous exposure for both the program and the students who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend.
Perhaps the most rewarding outcome, however, was the feedback received from those attending and working the event. Throughout the weekend, Adams Radio staff members, event promoters, vendors, and concertgoers consistently praised the students for their professionalism, strong work ethic, positive attitudes, and dedication to their craft.
RoxxFest 2026 was more than just a production opportunity. It was a chance for students to showcase their skills in a professional environment and demonstrate the quality of work being produced at Porter County Career Center and PC3 Media. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our program and grateful to everyone who supported and encouraged them throughout the weekend.
