PC3 Honors Chuck Swirsky's 50 Years in Broadcasting
For 50 years, Chuck Swirsky has brought basketball to life for generations of fans, and recently, Porter County Career Center (PC3) students, staff members and Valparaiso High School coaches took time to honor the legendary broadcaster and celebrate the countless memories he has created behind the microphone.
Swirsky, the longtime radio voice of the Chicago Bulls, has also played an important role in the development of PC3’s student broadcasters. Each year, PC3 broadcasting students have the opportunity to attend a Bulls game, where they visit with Chuck and spend time learning from him before the broadcast. His willingness to share his knowledge, experiences and passion for the game has provided students with a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business.
For PC3 broadcasters, Swirsky’s influence goes far beyond the fundamentals of calling a game. His voice has been the soundtrack to countless basketball memories for Bulls fans and basketball fans around the country, and his dedication to the craft has inspired a new generation of broadcasters.
To recognize his remarkable 50-year broadcasting career and the impact he has had on so many, PC3 student Leila Sawaya took the time to create a special tribute video.
