PC3 welcomed its newest members this week for the annual Summer Boot Camp, giving students entering the program for the 2026-27 school year an exciting preview of what's in store when classes begin in August.
Throughout the camp, students jumped right into developing their on-air personalities and communication skills through a series of fun improv activities. One challenge had students creating and delivering breaking news updates for WNRG Radio, while another tested their creativity by convincing Mr. Harvoth to purchase a rather unusual prop hat!
The campers also got their first taste of studio production, stepping in front of the camera to read from the teleprompter and learning the basics of operating professional production equipment, including cameras and microphones. It was an exciting introduction to the hands-on experiences that make the PC3 program unique.
In addition to production activities, students enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch courtesy of JJ's Pizza Shack in Valparaiso, watched some of PC3's previous short films and music videos, and received an introduction to the fast-paced world of sports broadcasting and live productions.
If this week was any indication, the future is bright for the newest faces of PC3. We can't wait to welcome these talented students back in August as they begin an exciting year of creativity, collaboration, and real-world media production.
