During the month of May, PC3 was honored to welcome Coach Todd Reirden, a 2x NHL Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals to our studio. Coach Reirden was interviewed by our hockey expert Matthew Isley for a special edition of his show “Hockey Talk” and then took time to speak with our PM students about his career and the skills of teamwork, leadership and perseverance. In May 2025, "Toeing the Rubber" hosts Devon Alsman and Jonny Klumpe along with producer Brendan Gaghan had a special opporunity to chat with Cubs radio play by play voice and Hall of Famer broadcaster Pat Hughes. Pat talked to our students about his start in sports broadcasting, some memories of the Cubs' 2016 World Series victory and his thoughts on the current state of the team. - PC3 Mentors Inducted Into Technical Honors Society
Congratulations to our PC3 senior mentors Harley Beshears (Portage High School), Owen Heeren (Valparaiso High School), Jaiden Serles (Washington Township High School) and Asher Vander Woude (Washington Township High School) on their induction into the Porter County Career Center technical honors society! The students were joined by their family and friends during a special induction banquet on Thursday, May 1st at Wheeler High School. PC3 senior mentors Harley Beshears, Owen Heeren, Jaiden Serles and Asher Vander Woude following their induction into the PCC Technical Honors Society on May 1, 2025.

At the end of February, PC3 was on the road in historic South Bend at the campus of the University of Notre Dame ! Our resident hockey expert Matt Isley covered tonight’s senior night game between the Fighting Irish and #3 ranked Michigan State . - PC3 Wins Big at IASB State Contest
With almost 40 high schools and career centers in the state of Indiana participating, PC3 was able to bring home 5 awards at the annual IASB Radio and TV state contest at Butler University in March. Congratulations to PC3's Owen Heeren (1st place, original radio drama), Jude Parker and Francesca Plata (Honorable Mention, Short Film), Christopher Boehringer (Honorable Mention, Adapted Radio Drama), Asher Vander Woude (Honorable Mention, Cinematography) and our PC3 Football Sectional Sports Crew (3rd place, live football and basketball sports coverage with announcers Devon Alsman, Brody Kosiara, Jonny Klumpe and editor Brendan Gaghan) PC3's Owen Heeren a first place prize for Best Original Radio Drama at the 2025 IASB State Contest. PC3 students attend the 2025 IASB State Contest at Butler University.
