While the Vikings were taking care of business on the field, the PC3 Media crew was battling its own opponent — extreme heat and humidity.
The conditions made for what may have been the hottest and most humid football broadcast in PC3 history, but the student crew never let up. From setting up equipment before kickoff to producing the broadcast, calling the action, operating cameras and breaking everything down afterward, the students showed tremendous dedication and teamwork.
That’s what PC3 is all about.
The crew working Friday night included:
Commentators: Drew Snider & Nate Rackouski
Scoreboard Operator: Nathan Allred
Director: Samantha Lustick
Game Producer: Leila Sawaya
Cameras: Cody Paterson, Ben Rupp, Gianna Zikkos, Araya Hlinsky, Triston Lowe & Brianna Yankauskas
Social Media: Jenna Merli
Sideline Reporter: Gianna Zikkos
Every student deserves massive props for willing their way through the heat and getting the job done. The experience is about much more than simply producing a football game — students are learning how to work as a team, communicate under pressure and handle the challenges that come with live television production.
PC3 Media would also like to extend a special thank-you to Mike Fleischman for his continued hard work and dedication to the program, especially for mentoring PC3's young broadcasters. Mike's experience and guidance have been invaluable to the students, and the program hopes to have him back on the air later this season.
After earning a well-deserved three-day weekend, PC3 Media will be back in action next Saturday at Popcorn Fest, continuing another busy year of student-produced media.
For this crew, the work never stops — and that's exactly the way they like it.
Congratulations to the Vikings on the win, and congratulations to the PC3 Media crew on another job well done!
