Vikings Celebrate Senior Night With 35-7 Win Over South Bend Riley at PC3 Sports Opener

The Valparaiso Vikings bounced back in a big way on Friday night August 28th, defeating the South Bend Riley Wildcats 35-7 during senior night at Valparaiso High School.

After opening the season with a 49-24 loss to Penn, Valpo responded with a dominant performance on both sides of the football and improved to 1-1 on the season.

Valparaiso's offense continued to be led by sophomore quarterback Cooper Gear, who had an impressive opening night against Penn with 126 rushing yards and three touchdowns, along with 124 passing yards and a touchdown.

Friday night's game was also another important night for the students of PC3 Media, who handled production duties for the Vikings. Several of our students were working cameras for the very first time and haven't even learned them in class yet! Meanwhile, veteran leadership team members Gianna Zikkos, Leila Sawaya and Samantha Lustick led the way, with Alyssa Batesole handling the social media beat. We also want to thank broadcaster and program mentor Mike Fleischman for helping with play-by-play duties for our first two games while new voices Drew Snider and Nate Rackouski gain valuable experience in the booth.
