PC3 Students Gain Real-World Experience with Porter County Community Foundation

Students in the second-year Radio & TV program at Porter County Career Center recently had the opportunity to put their skills to work on a real-world project with the Porter County Community Foundation.

PC3 Media welcomed Kevin Nuppnau from the Porter County Community Foundation for a special visit with students. Nuppnau shared firsthand experiences from the professional world and discussed the importance of effective storytelling, communication, and video production.

As part of the experience, PC3’s second-year students worked directly with the Porter County Community Foundation to shoot a commercial video for the organization. The project gave students the chance to experience what it is like to work with an actual client—from planning and production to capturing the footage needed to create a professional commercial.

Opportunities like this are an important part of the PC3 Media experience, allowing students to take the skills they have developed in the classroom and apply them to projects that have a real purpose in the community.
